Introduction

NWHO was founded in 1976 with the goal to provide exceptional medical services to women in a safe and comfortable environment. We understand that your emotional health and safety are as important as your physical well being.

NWHO clinics provide a sound alternative to the high cost of inpatient care. Our clinics are among the most progressive and cost effective in the United States.

All our physicians are licensed medical doctors with specialized expertise in abortion medicine. Many of the clinics offer general anesthesia and/or IV Sedation which is provided by licensed anesthesiologists or CRNAs. All clinics comply with Federal, State and Local regulations and meet or exceed all medical standards.

Anti-Abortionists Guilty!

The National Women's Health Organization (NWHO) proved a nationwide comspiracy of violence against abortion providers and women who seek their services. On Monday, April 20, 1998, a jury of 4 women and 2 men found Joseph Scheidler, Operation Rescue and others liable under the Federal Racketeer Infulenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute. 25 Years of Choice

January 22, 1998, marks the 25th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion throughout the United States. NWHO clinics were founded shortly thereafter, and we consider this a landmark event in solidifying the availability of legal abortion nationwide.

NWHO President and CEO, Susan Hill, has issued the following statement:

"25 years is a landmark. I think we have won the abortion debate. When young women in Mississippi find our clinic on the internet, then come in for an abortion believing that it is their right to choose, the abortion rights movement has accomplished its mission. Women and men in this country will not surrender that personal choice. Abortion has become mainstream and I am proud to have been part of that historic social movement."

Abortion Services

We provide 1st and 2nd trimester abortions in clinics and outpatient ambulatory surgical centers. We also provide a 24-hour emergency call service for any post operative problems and the clinics are equipped to handle most emergencies or are able to admit any emergency to a local hospital.

You should expect to be in the clinic between 3-5 hours. During this time, we will obtain a medical history, do a lab work up, ultrasound, and pelvic examination. You will be provided with supportive and educational counseling prior to surgery. Following surgery, you will be closely monitored for 1-1-1/2 hours in a comfortable recovery room under the supervision of the nursing staff.
